+ Our Story
The idea of KILO Strength Society was born in 2016 and was brought to life in January of 2017 in Huntington Beach, California. Founders Stephane Cazeault, Alexandra Bernardin and Kelsey DeSanctis packed up all of their belongings in Rhode Island and drove across the country on a mission. They noticed a trend of strength in the industry, and wanted to provide the best programming, equipment and coaching all in one place.
Stephane and Alexandra, originally from Canada, were recruited into the United States in 2006 to work in a private facility where they worked with professional athletes and executive clients. After 7 years, they were hired by a world renowned education provider, Poliquin Strength Institute. During their time at Poliquin, they travelled the world educating Strength Coaches and Personal Trainers.
Stephane and Alexandra met Kelsey during their time at Poliquin. The three quickly realized that they all shared a dream of opening their own facility and living in Southern California. Together, they had the ultimate team.
+ Stephane Cazeault
Stéphane has spent the last 24 years perfecting his work. He has a strong formal academic foundation, earning a bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Montreal. Stéphane recently published his first book, 66 Strategies to Program Design.
In his career Stéphane has personally trained professional athletes in football, baseball, and hockey. Stéphane's passion is program design. His program design is carefully structured with every possible component taken into consideration to ensure the trainee reaches and exceeds their goals, making his work a combination of both science and art.
+ Alexandra Bernardin
Alexandra has been a coach for over 25 years. Coaching comes naturally to her. Alexandra’s first experience was at the age of 15 as a competitive-level women's gymnastic coach. After 10 years of coaching and earning her bachelors degree in both Dietetics and Human Nutrition and Kinesiology, Alexandra made the decision to become a strength and lifestyle coach. After her degree she attended and completed an endless amount of continuing education in both strength training and nutrition. She has now worked with clients ranging from general population to professional athlete.
Alexandra also used her knowledge and background in gymnastics to compete in bodybuilding as a Fitness Competitor — achieving a third place finish in the North American Championships.
Her reputation in the field led to her recruitment to educate trainers and coaches for a world renowned health and fitness education company. Traveling the world as a lead instructor for the last five years has given her a rare insight to the new pulses and trends of the fitness industry.
